Lan Gao

Lan Gao

L.Ac., Dipl.Ac. · Virginia Medical Board Licensed · Nationally Certified

With a deep appreciation for the intricate wisdom of the human body, Lan firmly believes that each person holds the innate intelligence to heal themselves — much like how a wound naturally heals over time. However, this process can sometimes be impeded by factors like trauma (physical or emotional), stress, illness, or lifestyle choices. This is when a guiding hand and external support are essential to facilitate self-healing.

Lan has been working with and mentored by Dr. Yu Yu for seven years at White Pine Acupuncture Pain Clinic. She has hands-on experience and specialized skills in treating:

  • Lower back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Knee pain
  • Migraine
  • Injuries
  • Stress, anxiety, and depression
  • Insomnia
  • Digestive and respiratory complaints
  • Women's health

Craniosacral Therapy (CST)

In addition to acupuncture, Lan incorporates Craniosacral therapy — a gentle, hands-on technique focusing on the bones, membranes, and cerebrospinal fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Practitioners use light touch to release tension and improve cerebrospinal fluid flow, promoting balance and overall well-being. CST helps address restrictions and imbalances in the craniosacral system, supporting the body's innate harmony and resilience. Many people find it effective for reducing stress, alleviating chronic pain, improving sleep, and enhancing emotional health.

In her free time, Lan enjoys Chinese folk and classical dance and has been with Xuejuan Dance Ensemble for more than 15 years.

Lan welcomes new patients. To schedule an appointment, please call 703-593-6501 or email vaserenityhealing@gmail.com.
